My father had a stroke several years ago. His hand-eye coordination was affected, and although he eats independently it is necessary to cover his clothing during meals. I ordered three of these adult bibs, and have been very satisfied with the performance of them all. As an added benefit, he also uses them at bedtime to protect his pajamas from toothpaste and mouthwash.
I wash them along with his other clothes in cold or warm water in my not-so-gentle washer. I toss them in the dryer on the sweater/delicate temperature. The protectors were rather stiff when new, but washing has softened them. Each bib gets washed at least once a week. The color has not faded, and the lining has not cracked or become less waterproof. The hook and loop neck closure continues to work perfectly.
I recommend this product if you need an adult clothing protector for any reason. Although I haven't tried it, I'm sure that it would competently protect clothing while working on messy craft projects.
Pros:
1. Works as expected - This durable product does exactly what it's supposed to do and protects my father's clothes from spills.
2. Covers a large area - The picture of the product is accurate. It completely covers his chest and lap when he is seated.
3. Reasonable cost - Most assistance supplies are very expensive. These bibs have cost about $1.00 a month during the time he has used them, and do not appear to be wearing out.
Cons:
1. As far as I can tell, it only comes in the floral print. Even in navy blue, this is rather feminine for an adult male. My dad doesn't mind because it works so well for him. On the plus side, this print definitely hides small spills, reducing wash frequency.
Caveat:
Don't forget to fasten the neck closure before you toss this bib in the washer to prevent it from fastening itself to your other clothes.

Agree with Lena's review and would add that unlike the other one we ordered, this can be easily hand washed. You can also sponge wash if it is only slightly soiled where as the other one does not lend itself well to this. We are ordering 2 more. Perfect for my mother whose ability to swallow was affected by a stroke one year ago and much of her food ends up on her chest/lap!
