5 out of 5 stars Great UNIT, everyone who lives by themselves should have it   August 1, 2007

I have purchased 4 of these over the last 5 years or so, and they are just what every senior who lives alone or disabled person should have. They are a bit challanging to get set up and recorded (recommend some help on that if you are technologically challenged and have trouble remembering which remote works what tv, etc) but once set up it is a life saver for sure. My Dad used it and fell down outside in the cold putting bird seed in the feeders and he pressed the buttom which he wore around his neck, as you should, and it sent the machine dialing out and I got to him within minutes. He could have frozen... and another time he couldn't get up out of the tub and reached it and got me again. IT DOES NOT NEED a constant monitoring by some company bleeding your wallet dry month after month. You can program fire dept, EMS, or just start calling the kids one by one til someone picks up and punches in the code to stop it from dialing...and then you can do a speak talk with the person if they are in ear shot of the unit, tho you need to do some dry runs on this part so you don't forget the code or the how to do it process. These are cheaper now than when I first bought one for Dad, then one for Mom, who still wears it. I then bought for mother-in-law, and aunts, etc. When I get old, I will get one. Pendant batteries last a very long time, years...so long as you don't use it all the time. You will get the false alarm once in awhile, (when they roll on the pendant in the nite) but that just means it is working and instills confidence in the unit.

Just buy it and you won't regret it.

5 out of 5 stars Telemerency Feel Secure Model 700   July 12, 2007

I purchased this emergency dialer for my aging mother. The instructions were very clear and straight forward unless you are a pea brain while easy enough to see unless you wear coke bottle glasses and read them by candle light. The unit functions very well and can dial more numbers than you will ever need to program into it. I gave the unit 5 stars for its simplicity of programming and it is a good bargain. I would rather be notified personally by a device rather than depend on a "service" to pick up and also avoid extra cost of the monthly service. The Life Line is made by Philips and in all my years of dealing with electronic equipment, I always avoid ANYTHING made by Philips.

Best feature...I was able to program it to only ring to 1 phone number and no 911. Now my Dad can work outside in the garden and yard again. He never has to worry if my mom is okay or needs anything

My mother is 85 had I bought this for her about a year ago. She fell the other night and used it to call me and it worked great. No monthly service fees either.

5 out of 5 stars Life Saver   June 3, 2010

I purchased this medical alert for my 88 year old mother who lives with me. Although she has not had to "really" use it, she accidentally pushed the help button one morning, and within 8 minutes the police and ambulance was at the door - that almost scared her to death. But, I can tell you it works very well. And since she does not walk very well and thinks she has to go out and watch the garden grow, and I have to work all day this has become her favorite friend. She wears it around her neck day and night. I would recommend it for everyone, young and old.
